Matt has been in the solar industry since 2009. He has a passion for renewable energy and believes it is the only long-term solution for future energy needs. He has designed, built, and repaired thousands of solar arrays over the years and is highly experienced with all major solar equipment manufacturers. He has the knowledge and experience to diagnose complex issues and resolve them with long lasting and reliable repairs.
Matt has a NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) certification which is the most respected certification in the solar industry. Matt earned a BA from Loras College in Dubuque and completed a technical certification from Universal Technical Institute of Orlando, FL.
Matt proudly served in the US Coast Guard as a Machinery Technician Petty Officer. His primary responsibility was troubleshooting critical electrical systems on ships. His experience and training in engineering developed many of the skills he uses to troubleshoot solar systems today. Matt was initially stationed at Integrated Support Command Miami and then did a tour on the Cutter Mustang out of Seward, Alaska.
Matt lives on a small farm in Elizabeth, IL where he spends his time doing farm chores and enjoying a laid-back country lifestyle with his German Sheppard, Grizzley. He loves spending time outdoors and can be found boating, fishing, snowmobiling and 4 wheeling in his free time.
