Crystal has been installing and troubleshooting arrays since 2016 and has experience with many different systems and accompanying components. Systems include Fronius, SolarEdge, APsystems, Enphase, Solectria, Hoymiles, Tigo, ABB, and Sunny Boy. She is also familiar with a wide variety of communications and panel models.
Dedicated to continuing education, Crystal is currently attending Solar Energy International to acquire certificates in solar installation, commissioning, NEC code, and operating and maintenance inspections. She has completed her OSHA 30 training and is working toward her PV Commissioning and Maintenance Specialist certification, a prestigious qualification, from the highly respected North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). She has also been taking courses in Enphase IQ8 installation and SolarEdge backup interface installation.
Prior to working in the solar industry, Crystal served in the US Navy as an aviation ordnanceman, based in Coronado, CA. She then moved to Texas and earned a technical certificate in carpentry and millwright work from Austin Community College. She was also a proud member of Austin Carpenters Local 1266. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in project management while working as a carpenter in Dubuque.
Crystal has resided in the Dubuque area since 2009 and enjoys traveling, canoeing, hiking, fishing, hunting, and roller skating. She also frequents Dubuque Fighting Saints hockey games and Dubuque Bomb Squad roller derbies.
